The military would not let me ride my bike across the bridge to Uruguay and an hour of negotiating and playful name calling didn't help. They did however invite me in for dinner. At 2:00 am they were still drinking wine and sharing their opinions about Argentina's political mess. Their point of view was sure interesting; they believed the country would be better off with a military government. I slept in the border patrol booth and finally got a ride across the bridge at 2:30 the next afternoon.
